SPRAY TANNING FAQ

SPRAY TANNING FAQ

Am I protected from the sun?

No, a spray tan does not contain any type of sunscreen.

How long will my tan last?

A spray tan can last anywhere from 5-10 days depending on after care treatment.

Do I exfoliate before the spray tan?

Shower, exfoliate and remove all unwanted body hair 24 hours before your spray tan appointment. Do not use any oil based products when you shower/exfoliate as it can leave behind a residue and affect your end result.

Should I moisturize before my appointment?

To ensure your skin is properly prepped, we recommend moisturizing 2x per day for a week leading up to your appointment. Do not put any lotion on the day of your spray tan appointment.

What should I do the day of my appointment?

Remove all perfume, deodorant, makeup, lotions, etc. by showering 6+ hours prior to your appointment. (Exfoliation should be done 24 hours prior). Your pores are enlarged after a warm shower or bath. The tanning solution can sit in your pores and create spotting if you shower too close to your appointment time. We recommend a quick rinse with cold water at the end of your shower to close your pores.

Should I dry brush before my spray tan?

Yes, dry brushing (24 hours prior) is the best form of exfoliation for your skin before a spray tan!

What should I wear to my appointment?

We suggest wearing dark, loose-fitting clothing, including bra and underwear. Choose something without tight straps or elastic. Remove any jewelry, unless it’s permanent. (We will work around any permanent jewelry) Keeping jewelry off for 24 hours after your spray tan is recommended to reduce unwanted rubbing and lines.

Should I shower off my old spray tan?

Do not allow your spray tan to linger before the next one! Make sure you are fully exfoliated and showered before your next one.

What appointments should I complete prior to my spray tan?

You should complete hair, nails, massages, facials, waxing, etc. at least 24 hours prior to your spray tan.

Is it okay to sweat after my appointment?

We recommend you wait at least 24 hours before working out or doing anything that would produce sweating to maintain the integrity of your tan. You can apply small amounts of baby powder to areas you might perspire in. Letting sweat sit on your skin or under tight garments can. cause splotching. Baby powder in those areas prior to sweating can help prevent that.

Post spray tan, what kind of shoes and socks can I wear?

We recommend flip flops or sandals the first 24 hours to avoid issues on your feet from socks/closed toe shoes.

Can I put deodorant on after my spray tan?

Not immediately after! You should wait until after your first rinse to put on any deodorant. Dove products should be avoided altogether.

I have sensitive skin. Can I still get a spray tan?

If you have any skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis please let us know ahead of time. It will be best to perform a patch test prior to receiving a spray tan.

Will the spray tan dry my skin out?

As long as you regularly apply lotion (starting after your first rinse) it should not dry you out.

No! We recommend washing your hair prior to your appointment and/or 24 hours after.
